Notice: Los Angeles Port Bridge to Close for 16 Months! Approximately 4,700 Port Trucks per Day to Be Rerouted, Potentially Increasing Pickup and Return Costs!

According to the latest schedule released by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Vincent Thomas Bridge will be fully closed starting November 7, 2026, local time, for a bridge deck replacement project. The closure is expected to last approximately 16 months, with traffic projected to resume in early March 2028.

Shippers and freight forwarders planning shipments through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are advised to confirm drayage routes and trucking capacity at the destination port in advance. Please also verify free time for demurrage and detention, as well as warehouse appointment schedules, and adjust container pickup, return, and final delivery plans accordingly.
